Follow the Travels of Rob and Marlane aboard their Boat Oo-La-La
Welcome,
this website aims to document our travels through words and pictures, the idea
being that you can follow our adventures (Rob and Marlane) as we cruise the canals
and waterways of England and Europe aboard our narrow boat Oo-La-La. After years
of research and investigation of the many canal destinations in England, France,
Holland and Belgium we finally decided to start our trip in England, UK. You can see a map of our current area of travels here.
We
began our search for the perfect boat to carry us on our journey in August 2001,
starting with the aid of the internet and finally hiring a car to visit most of
the popular marinas until we found the right boat for us. After sifting through
the many types and styles of boats, as well as all the adverts promising canal
nervana, we finally found the narrowboat of our dreams, the OO-LA-LA, moved aboard
and so began our canal adventure. Fast forward one year and you will find us on the motor boat below...
